Bird Finder Philippines explored the provinces of Benguet, Ifugao, and Mountain Province to explore the numerous montane birding sites of the Cordilleras. This trip focused on exploring some of the most famous birding sites of the Cordilleras, as well as several other unseen trails to be assessed for our upcoming Signature Luzon Birding Tour and Special Luzon Birding Tour for 2026.

Despite the foggy weather, what surprised our team was the natural abundance of birds within the highlands.

A couple of our highlights include the Luzon Red Crossbill, Flame-breasted Fruit-dove, Mountain Shrike, and Luzon Water Redstart.

We also got a wide variety of bird species during our multiple encounters of mixed-species foraging flocks

Classic Philippine endemics like the Blue-headed Fantail, Elegant Tit, Metallic-winged Sunbird, Chestnut-faced Babbler, and Philippine Pygmy Woodpecker became constants for our multiple-site visit in the Cordilleras.
