  • Southern Sierra Madre, Infanta, Quezon

After 4 days of heavy rains in Luzon brought about by Typhoon Enteng, Bird Finder Philippines found a gap in the weather disturbance and pushed on with a one-day solo birding tour for Mr. Bastiaan Slijpen from the Netherlands to experience the incredible bird diversity of the Southern Sierra Madre mountain range along Marilaque Highway. The group was rewarded with excellent birding weather and fantastic views of several notable starbirds of Sierra Madre, such as the Metallic-winged Sunbirds, Flaming Sunbirds, Yellow-wattled Bulbuls, Elegant Tits, and much more. Among the species observed, Bastiaan logged at total of 18 lifers in just a few hours of birding.
